In the category of Best Fan Creation, 2 of the games were removed from the list after they were announced. Pokemon Uranium and Another Metroid 2 Remake (AM2R) were both shut down by Nintendo, who felt these games infringed upon their intellectual rights, and as such were no longer eligible for the Awards. There was therefore no winner announced, although the other 2 nominees were both still in the running. These were:

BEST FAN CREATION:

  • Brutal Doom 64
  • Enderal: The Shards of Order

Having watched the Golden Joystick Awards just a few weeks ago, it is interesting to see how the public who voted there agreed with the judges’ decisions. Overwatch, The Witcher 3, Uncharted 4, Firewatch and Pokemon Go all had large success there as well, so there seems to be a general consensus that this was indeed a good year for gaming. What about you? Any surprises or disagreements? Let us know in the comments below.
